OUR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Janneke’s journey into gelato began in Europe, where she trained at the renowned Dutch Gelato University, learning the art of traditional gelato making from the ground up.
Immersed in authentic techniques and a culture that celebrates craftsmanship, she developed a deep understanding of flavour, texture, and quality. That European influence still shines through today in every batch of Sub Zero Gelato — thoughtfully crafted, perfectly balanced, and made to be truly unforgettable.
Sub Zero Gelato first began serving scoops at the iconic Perth Royal Show and Twilight markets, where it quickly became a crowd favourite among locals and visitors alike.

This year we have added little Frankie and Enzo to our cart family, perfect for smaller spaces and corporate events, with the option to stand out with your own branding added to the carts.
GELATO IN THE VALLEY AND BEYOND
When the time felt right, Janneke and Robin took a leap and opened their first permanent store in the Swan Valley – a big step after years of building the business from the ground up.
What started in a small, humble kitchen with no air conditioning, juggling markets, events, and long days, had grown into something truly special through hard work and determination. That same hands-on passion still lives on today, with every scoop reflecting the journey, resilience, and love that brought Sub Zero Gelato to where it is now.
Building on their success in the Swan Valley, they expanded south and opened their Busselton store, bringing their handcrafted gelato to a whole new community. Since then, they’ve loved serving both locals and visitors alike, becoming a must-visit stop for anyone exploring the South West.
